Under ReviewComposite models when connected to AS models (PBI datasets and Azure Analysis Services)

We really love the new feature of 'Composite Models' in the Power BI July 2018 update! This enables us to join custom lists with DirectQuery sources.
It would also be beneficial if this would also work when connected to SSAS Tabular in DirectQuery.
This would stronlgy improve the enterprise features of Power BI.

This is being worked on! It's a long project but active development has started. Stay tuned for more information. Thanks for all the votes and support!

This missing functionality disallows you from mixing cube data with other data, whitch in a hybrid world is expected to shorten the Time To Market.

One intermediate step would be to allow the creation or import of standalone table for use in slicers. These slicers can then be used to select among measures in either the underlying tabular model or report level measures. I good example is a simple slicer to select between units displayed in lbs or kg.

Definitely need this feature to complete enterprise bi offering. Hot/warm/cold tables, with hot being direct query, would save so much mid-day processing.

This is an absolute must to enable the delivery of fully formed semantic models. Datasets are effectively useless for any self-service service deployment which utilizes a central, certified model without it.

This feature has to be implemented if we are to be able to implement an IT managed self-service solution with centralised, certified datasets. I.e. allow trained report authors in the business to combine IT managed SSAS or Power BI datasets with other sources that perhaps haven't made it into the centralised and certified dataset yet.
I would estimate each vote for this feature could represent 100s of users (and licenses!)

It would be great if you could provide at least a timeline for the feature, It will be a game changing for the BI platform and easily transform any domain by connecting history to present.

any updates?

I've seen other BI tools that allow you join two cubes based on a dimension attribute in SSAS

When will this feature be updated ?
Connect 2 SSAS with composite model, That is the big evolution conception of BI really !
