I have volumes of information to share with my teams that is best presented in tables and matrices. It would be a huge improvement if they were able to export the data from the visualizations and have the formatting in Excel match the formatting created within PowerBI.
This would be especially helpful for ongoing forecasting activities.

Thanks for your feedback on this issue - while we'd like to enable this, there is currently no timetable around doing so. There is the option as a workaround the create a paginated view as a drillthrough of the visual and have a formatted version you can export to Excel, but understand this isn't a solution everyone can take advantage of currently.

RE: Allow Table and Matrix Data Exports to Match PowerBI Visual
For me this is way more important to have than the actual paginated reports. Paginated reports are tedious to format and build. The only reason I would build one is just to export the data in the same form as the visual. If this were possible natively in PBI, I wouldn't even need paginated reports.

we really need this functionality
RE: Allow Table and Matrix Data Exports to Match PowerBI Visual
This functionality is available in Tableau & QlikView. You would think this would be easy for Microsoft since they own Excel.

Please Microsoft.

How does the 8th most popular idea still need votes?

Much needed one.

All I can say is that I agree with all the other members, plus, Tableau can do it as we speak.
RE: Allow Table and Matrix Data Exports to Match PowerBI Visual
This is an absolute must have. In our company were used to this type of functionality with other BI tools, like QlikView.
RE: Allow Table and Matrix Data Exports to Match PowerBI Visual
I want to follow up on my comment from yesterday. I've only been working in Power BI a few weeks, but I already see many advantages over our current BI tool that utilizes MDX. We already extensively use Excel's PowerPivot as a front-end to or SQL back-end, so bringing everything under the Microsoft umbrella makes sense to me. Which is why I am so disappointed to find that we can't export a matrix as it appears in PBI into Excel. This is such as fundamental request and NEED that I can't believe it was first proposed here over 4 years ago and still hasn't been incorporated into the product. Our employees shouldn't have to deal with having to further manipulate the underlying data once it's exported to Excel. That's the purpose of Power BI - eliminating the need for them to do that!! Even with all the limitations of our current BI product, it has had this feature for years. Please Microsoft, get this done.

Please prioritize this feature-- this would make power BI extremely powerful, and save HOURS on a regular basis for developers who have to work around it.
