There's been a surge in requests for tax-related software analytics in the last week! I wonder why! :) Thanks for the suggestion though - who else out there is using QuickBooks desktop? Vote if you'd like to see this prioritized!

RE: Quickbooks Desktop Version

This will be a great addition to Power BI if QuickBooks Desktop had a connection.

Quickbook is of the most used software, Powerbi is an amazing tool that will allow small and medium companies to go to the next level ,,

Microsoft definitely need to consider this market as a big opportunity

RE: Quickbooks Desktop Version

I would love for Power BI to be able to get data from the Desktop version of Quickbooks!

RE: Quickbooks Desktop Version

Definitely needed. Users do not want to migrate to QuickBooks Online to use Power Bi data. I suggest that Microsoft will benefit if Quickbook Desktop users get excited about Power BI. If so, there is a good chance that users might be willing to migrate to Dynamics instead of QuickBooks Online. I was not very happy with QuickBooks Online and would have used Dynamics instead of QuickBooks Desktop if pricing had been tolerable for my client.

RE: Quickbooks Desktop Version

Ironically, MS could make more money from Desktop linking than what they would make from selling an AX system.

RE: Quickbooks Desktop Version

'@Anton Wright - Not to sound negative but my guess is that Microsoft will never take this on because of a couple of reasons.

1st - and probably most important, a listed in comments previously, other vendors in the Quickbooks community have already created numerous adapters that create ODBC compliant connectors for QuickBooks data. Some (like QQube create a real data warehouse out of the data and others(like Cdata) at least make the data available in an OLTP data model.

2nd - MSFT doesn't have a strong economic incentive to invest in this because expectations would be high and that would mean a high investment. Also, in some way, it would be good for Microsoft's Business Solutions (MBS) division to have people wanting to leave Quickbooks and search for an alternative that MBS could fill with it's won solutions.

if you'd like to see a demo of the QQUBE solution you can find a time suitable to you on my online calendar at: https://calendly.com/ernestcook
