Connect to SAP BW with single-sign-on via on-premise gateway
Large SAP BW installations with thousands of users are often accessed via single-sign-on (SSO) e.g. the users windows credentials are used to authenticate to BW. SSO simplifies the user experience and reduces user administration costs. These users should be able to setup on-premise gateway connections that can be used to refresh data sets in the Power BI Service. The connections should leverage that individuals BW roles & authorizations and not require a BW password i.e. automatically associate the Power BI user ID to the associated SAP user ID.

RE: SAP
SSO works for Power BI & SAP (HANA + BW) using Kerberos (for PBI Desktop and PBI Service through the Gateway): https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-gateway-sso-kerberos.
SSO for SAP BW is supported since 04/2018 (https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/on-premises-data-gateway-april-update-is-now-available/)
RE: SAP
Please prioritize this functionality to unlock the use of SAP data
RE: SAP
I dont know why its here , because I am able to do it using Single sign on I am using Message Server connectivity with >net connector and using Kerberos authentication. All you need is SAP Partner name which you can get from SAP Logon of your organization. No password required while connecting to SAP BW.
Correct me if i am wrong
RE: SAP
Not only for BW but for ECC as well.
All main companies use SAP, the effort of replicating and keep securities syncronized on a datawarehouse for powerBI stops powerBI growth

RE: SAP
We are using SAML to authenticate to our SAP ECC. Support for SAML would be great.
RE: SAP
We need this connectivity working for both SAP BW and PBI
RE: SAP
We need this connectivity working for both BW and ECC systems.
RE: SAP
We need this in our organization as we have to leverage existing BW roles and authorizations instead of controlling the access at the report or a work space level.
Because of this missing SSO we are unable to use the power BI .
RE: SAP
We need this in our organization!!
If this is possible, we will increase Power BI usage dramatically.
