I can copy the visual either as image or data table and paste it in other applications.

We recently released the ability to export data from tiles and visuals to a CSV file. This may work for y'all as a workaround until we add the ability to directly copy and paste the visual or data. You can read more about it here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/powerbi/archive/2016/01/06/power-bi-service-update-0106.aspx#exportTile. Be sure to let us know what you think about the feature!

The inability to copy data out of a cell is a show stopper for many of my use cases.

We have long string in a column and simply need to copy and paste a field in a row.... why can't do something so simple?

I cannot even select some text...

When are we going to get this one?!?!?

This is super necessary, but not present currently. The 'export data' feature looks ok, but it only works if the person is directly logged into the power-bi service or desktop. If you are viewing the shared link, or embed, then you have no way to pull out the info :(

Desperately need this, especially since the printing is so poor, this would help in so many different ways.

Can we get an update please?

The 'workaround' does not actually work when you are trying to copy things such as calculated measures, e.g. percentages

we need this, the workaround is too much hazzle for final users, that sometimes doesn't even know what a .csv file is!

Adding another vote for Copy/Paste support in visuals. This is a key feature for acceptance of Power BI in my organization.
