Ability to define rules at column level, to control the data fields available to different roles (e.g. employee salary visible to the users in finance roles only, while other employee details visible to other department roles).

RE: Column Level Security for reports
This is a high demand feature and a reason we go with AAS or SSAS instead of a full Power BI based solution.
Could you at least provide an ETA on this, please?
RE: Column Level Security for reports
Add CLS asap. RLS alone is not helping.
RE: Column Level Security for reports
We are striving to have a single enterprise model in Power BI the same way we do in SSAS multidimensional. However, not every user should have access to every column/measure/table in the model.
I love Power BI, but as an enterprise semantic model, it simply doesn't have the necessary functions or tooling.
RE: Column Level Security for reports
Aboslutely necessary. Without this RLS has no sense for most of the cases!

Nedded
RE: Column Level Security for reports
Yes, this is needed. I'm going to look at some tips / workaround out there to achieve it, but it is needed. To prevent multiple datasets / queries.
RE: Column Level Security for reports
this is really more important to restrict the data at column level especially in Marketing region.
Request Microsoft to implement this ASAP.
RE: Column Level Security for reports
We need Column level security to avoid multiple datasets for each department in an organization, and also to protect the sensitive data from unauthorized users.
RE: Column Level Security for reports
This would be required to have a single PowerBi data set that covers the organisation
RE: Column Level Security for reports
This is essential for the type of data and the variety of users we work with.
