You need to able to add data labels to the maps (in power map, power view, and power BI Designer) such that you don't need to hover over the area to get the information.
Ideally you could add the data by your location identifier or even customize it.

RE: Data Labels for Maps
Completed in Jan - over 6 month ago - and this is nowehere to be found - very frustrating and as someone mentioned quite useless, especially if you have a lot of data points - hoevering over each and everyone just for the values is not feasible!
RE: Data Labels for Maps
Adding text labels is an imperative for ease of interpretation. I put results into a MAP of the US where results are by state. In addition to a layered color and bar graph I'd like a permanent percent change somewhere in the state rendered as a number.
Today I paste the map into word and then paste a pic of the labels I set up in excel to word to get a rendered map with all the information need for interpretation. :(
RE: Data Labels for Maps
Hard time seeing how this is useful without data labels of some sort
RE: Data Labels for Maps
Where is this functionality? I can't find it anywhere on filled maps.... Without it the tool is practically useless
RE: Data Labels for Maps
not complete..cant find this. I cant believe this never came up in testing.
RE: Data Labels for Maps
If this has been "completed" it is not evident in the tool, is an explanation available?
RE: Data Labels for Maps
From other threads the closest I have come is putting Average of Lat and Long in to do the location then you can put anything you want in Location. Will still only show when you hover though whereas I want static labels.
RE: Data Labels for Maps
I Aggree this is not Completed, there should be a Label field on the Maps. Displaying the adress or the longitude and Latitudes are not what is needed.
RE: Data Labels for Maps
The hover over was fine but what is needed is the option to add other column information to the label as well as the postcode (Power Bi map)
RE: Data Labels for Maps
I think this extends beyond bubble maps - having optional zip code / county boundaries defined on the fill map would be very useful as right now it is just a blob of color and not very useful. MapPoint is a good comparison.
