A lot of SAP customers would benefit from a using PowerBI. A direct connection to SAP ECC would be a powerful addition to the list of connectors. Similar to SFDC a set of models around Order to Cash, Spend Analytics would be a great set of dashboards.

I am surprised SAP ECC/Netweaver connectivity does not exist in Power BI however SAP HANA does.

This is much needed create many important dashboards and as of now we have to count on SAP SLT to move data changes to HANA and then develop dashboards which is a pain.

Looking forward for this feature.

only reason why our company does not use power BI.

The ability to access SAP ECC data using a "BObj Universe" was one of the things that drew us to Power BI. Then we found out that this connector was removed due to licensing issues (so I heard).

I think the inability to access ECC data directly is a big shortcoming of PowerBI at least for those of us that would prefer to use PowerBI over the SAP BI tools.
