I would like to group visuals, textboxes and shapes to create custom features and presentations in the reports.

RE: group objects

I'm just getting started with Power BI after using Business Objects, Tableau, Qlik, and MicroStrategy for the past 13 years. Not being able to select and move multiple objects in Power BI is really increasing my development time. For a product that is pushing "speed to market" as a selling point I can't believe this is still an issue.

RE: group objects

Add this asap, working with many visuals in Power BI Desktop is a nightmare without grouping and probably costs the world millions every year in wasted development time.

RE: group objects

Power Bi desktop, Using bookmarks to stack objects on top of one another and then needing to move this stack of objects is time consuming. if I had the ability to drag a box round the objects I wanted to select and move on the page it would save time. Other visual editors (like Access forms ) allow a drag box to be used.

Also the ability to 'Group' objects into one block that would then lock these objects positions relative to one another would be good addition.

RE: group objects

more than 2 years since Power BI users voiced their opinions but nothing happened. There are basic requirements that need to be in place in the first instance, and not us begging for that!

RE: group objects

I completely agree. Group (and ungroup) should be options under Visual Tools -> Format.

RE: group objects

This needs done... part of basic functionality for a visualization tool. I've a visual with 7 elements that repeats 5 times... selecting individual parts, cut and paste, shouldn't be this hard. They should be groupable, and if not that at least need a lasso tool.

RE: group objects

Would be ideal to be able to the use these groups in the Selection Pane for Bookmarking purposes. +1

RE: group objects

I ended up replacing Chart Titles (which can't contains Measures) with Cards (containing a Measure) in order to have a dynamic title. Now I have two objects, but would like them to be grouped so that it looks like one chart visual (Moving together, ...) A container that can group object is a very good idea
