I'd like to be able to select a record in a table and have a chart on the dashboard filtered by that record. For example in PerformancePoint you can create a KPI list and then have a filter action to filter a line chart by the selected KPI. Ideally it would be good to have something similar to Tableau chart actions where you can customize which charts are affected by the filter, method of activating the action (click, hover etc). I understand this might be complex so I'd settle for a special type of table which restricts you to one dimension and many measures, and clicking on a dimension value would filter all charts on the dashboard.

We have this feature in the new table and matrix visual. Learn more in the blog: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-may-feature-summary/#table

RE: Table filter

I've just written a year on year comparison to view the top 10 customers from the previous year and the % change to the current year. The results are displayed in a table. Works great. After seeing the results the obvious next step is to click on one of the rows and view the sales info for that particular customer. But it's not possible!
You have a table visual and a slicer visual - please combine the two.

RE: Table filter

'@Heidi, same here.. We were presenting basic mockup of the template to a customer and one of their first questions was "ok, but what if I would like to select a row on a table and display only that?"...

RE: Table filter

We have a need to select a row and display a long info field in another table to make the data readable.

Come on chaps! 624 votes and over a year later. It's one of the main reasons people are sticking with Qlikview...
