If one project you have selected the Lock objects option from View panel, and you save the project, keep it selected next time you open the project.
On the November update, each time you open Desktop, this option appear deselected.
Thank you!

You should also be able to save whether visualisations and fields are maximised or hidden. Agree that this feels like Microsoft pushing customers to pro version, but my company has pro, I just want my screen setup to work as I saved it, rather than having to redo every time I start. So this punished people who have and dont have pro alike.

Implementing this feature would improve the user experience for basic users who just want to access reports with the free Power BI Desktop. Microsoft doesn't want that. Currently, they want you to pay a Power BI Pro licence to buy a better experience in the cloud.

So in this scenario, the shitty experience is working just as intended by Microsoft.

I can't believe this only has 34 votes and has been posted for over a year. Come on what a basic feature that should have been done day-one! It's irritating for pro users that open a report and accidentally move objects - let alone basic users who have no clue what they did when visualisations start moving all over the place!!!

Very strange that this isn't already implemented.

RE: Allow save the "lock objects" option for each project.

I still can't understand why they'd introduce the Lock option, but then it goes away after that session is closed. Maybe because it's not obvious to the user that it's turned on, but - no offense - some users wouldn't notice and don't need to notice, they just need the file simplified so they don't break it!
