I have 40,000 values in some of my core filters. Because the web UI only supports browsing through the filter values, I have to pre-filter each dashboard. I need the same search UI available in Excel filters.

Thanks for your feedbacks! We understand that advanced filter mode does not fully serve the need. We plan to add the search capability in. Stay tuned.

RE: Search my filter values in a dashboard

There is workaround before Power BI product team create this function: by installing "Filter by List by Devscop", on Power BI Desktop extension. It can copy/past multiple values and do multiple slicer on the report. https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/product/power-bi-visuals/WA104381413?tab=Overview

This one is needed, but this one is even more important to clients that need to paste in lists of skus\parts etc:

RE: Search my filter values in a dashboard

Is there any plans for this? Adding slicers to all reports doesn't quite meet my company's reporting needs.

Any chance this one is coming soon?

RE: Search my filter values in a dashboard

Please add better search functions! Specifically, a simple "search" box like what is in PowerView filters by default, or in Excel when you click a column filter dropdown.

RE: Search my filter values in a dashboard

Agreed - need the ability to search a filter based on characters entered, such that the filter selections narrow as more characters are entered. Alternative would be a text box filter (ie no check boxes) that would allow wildcards in/around the characters entered. A context example would be to facilitate selecting a part number or series of part numbers when the list itself could contain thousands of unique part number values.

RE: Search my filter values in a dashboard

What we could use in our reports is the ability to search on specific attributes from our Product catalog. Example is a simple search box filter that we can add 10 skus or 40 or 423. Advance filter lets us only search 2 values.

Search functionality should be added for page level as well as report level filters. This is a basic functionality not sure why this was missed in the first place. Please add this feature asap

I'd like to make sure this feature is still considered imperative by the developers. Our company has large datasets like many of the other commenters in this thread. We are switching over from PowerView to PowerBI and have found the lack of search functionality within filters to be a significant problem.

RE: Search my filter values in a dashboard

Some of the more diverse filters we have in our dimensions go into the 100,000's (for example, our client wants to track orders against 3 product codes). This makes filtering in front of clients slightly embarrassing to showcase, as you can imagine.

We'd like to use this as an access tool for the semantic layer of our data marts, but we could really use a filtering search if we're going to leverage this. I can see how the current filtering works nicely with smaller datasets but when we get into big data search tools are vital.
