It would be great to conditional format a table and/or a matrix based on the cell text, not only numbers

This month we added the ability to format text fields based off a numeric field: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-may-2018-feature-summary/#conditionalFormatting We also are planning on adding a feature that will let you format your text based on comparisons. I'll update this idea based on our progress on that feature.

RE: Conditional Formatting for Text
The ability to conditionally format text in a table is more important than supporting this for numbers. I find it inexplicable that you would release such a half baked feature particularly when this is something so easily achieved in Excel.
RE: Conditional Formatting for Text
Imagine a matrix with rows representing some list of systems, and a column which displays pass/fail or perhaps operational/non-operational. I want to show good rows as green, bad rows as red. One simple way to do this would be to allow conditional formatting for a cell on any value in the row, even values that aren't displayed. I could create a calculated column which is a number like zero or one. Then I could format "pass" as green if the hidden value is 1, or red for 0.
RE: Conditional Formatting for Text
This is essential for me as a data analyst in a school where we use alphanumeric grades. In a matrix I am limited to conditional formatting only if all values in the matrix are numbers - seems crazy. I\d like to be able to conditionally format values in one field based on the value in another
