We now have a great Slicer for dates, which is presented as a Slider, but it would be great to have a similar Slider Slicer for values too.

eg, If I have a field called 'Customer Balance' and want to give the end user the ability to filter down between two values (Customer Balances between 1000 & 10000), then a standard Slicer is not suitable as it just lists the balances. A Slider based Slicer will fill this role.

This has been in preview for some time and is now generally available. You can add numeric fields to slicers and select a range of values. We don't yet support measures (you would actually need to specify a measure and a category to slice on) but that's something we're considering - please create a new suggestion for that! One workaround is to create a summary table with the measure/category and slice on that. Thanks for the votes everyone!

Does anyone have a workaround to filter visuals by values ranges until this is available?

RE: Slider / Slicer for Values

So irritating that 1 year on this feature works fine in Power BI Desktop, and sometimes works in the service (seemingly for old reports?) but mostly just doesnt work in the service.

It seems really super low hanging fruit as the code must be there already in the service - just (half) disabled. I'm baffled why this isn't sorted yet.

RE: Slider / Slicer for Values

Hi Will and PowerBI team,

May I ask would this new function include the option to use measures in a slicer?
For example, I want the users to be able to select which measure to view like to select from sales value, margin or budget?

Currently, Phil Seamark's solution worked (https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/How-to-display-different-measures-using-a-selector/m-p/131714#M56176) using SUMMARIZECOLUMN function. But unable to further filter using new slicers on top. (https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Slicer-with-SummarizeColumn/td-p/366295)

RE: Slider / Slicer for Values

Looking forward to this feature being enables in the Power BI service. Having it only on the desktop version is not very useful for end users.

Will the slider support negative values as well?

RE: Slider / Slicer for Values

I'm new to powerBI but it surprises me it's not there. other tools as Tabelau or Spotfire have it.

RE: Slider / Slicer for Values

Hey Will, Can you estimate when this will be available inside the Power BI Service?
