I was all excited today that I was finally able to get images (binary) files loaded into my power query in the Power BI Designer. This took a bit getting around the Privacy settings and bugs, but the latest release of the Power BI Designer made it possible. Unfortunately now that I have the binary data and images available in my model I can't do anything with them:'( I want to use them like I can in Power View for Tile By and Datacards... Help!!!

We also have cases where primary keys are of type varbinary(20). It would be very helpful to be able to use these automatically-generated primary keys (hash keys). Thanks!

All my primary keys in my SQL DB are binary so although I can load individual tables I cannot create relations between them. It would be great if I could load the binary keys in PowerBI so I can relate different tables!

Yes, I'm doing a proof of concept which involves picking and displaying images in multiple layouts and using different filter criteria.

Agree. Ability to load binary and define ‘open with’ program to serve up files stored in Sql blob. PDF specifically is my need.

Would be handy when working with hash keys

agree! Referencing Images from a anonymous webserver via URL is one Thing, aber loading "secured" Image which Needs authenfication or even better loading Images from binary data which is available in the model would allow much more advanced scenarios

This is just nuts.... Every client that I have wants to see a red, yellow or green dot somewhere to report project health and though I can consume an image into Power Query I can't display it in a dashboard. How can something as simple as this not be part of the puzzle.

It would also be nice if you could use binary data from SQL Server or SSAS (MD or Tabular) using Live connections.

I guess it's similar to this idea: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/7340150-data-model-image-binary-support-in-reports
