RE: MySQL over SSH connection
We really bred this
RE: MySQL over SSH connection
Without that feature Power BI is not useful for us
RE: MySQL over SSH connection
Your Power BI tool is very powerful. However, like the others, we cannot use since not being support accessing MySQL over SSH.
Please make a big update unless this tool is losing a great pool of customers.
RE: MySQL over SSH connection
After reviewing multiple platforms we decided PowerBI was the best option, however, without SSH Tunneling this is a non-starter for us. One would think MS would have already built this is in as many other opensource platforms come with it.
RE: MySQL over SSH connection
This seems like a well requested and reasonable feature to include. Any update MS?
RE: MySQL over SSH connection
Not being able to access MySQL over SSH is a very big problem for us. Like most have said here, we literally can't even work with Power BI unless this is a feature.
RE: MySQL over SSH connection
Can't use Power BI anymore. Our new database is only accessible via SSH tunneling. We need this or we have to switch to other BI tooling.
RE: MySQL over SSH connection
Although its a bit long winded this works for me: 1. On SQL server, establish a linked server connection to the MySQL database using a PuTTY pipe, 2. Create a SQL database with views of the required MySQL tables using select from openquery functionality, 3. Set up a data gateway to refresh the data through. We only have a relatively small dataset to deal with, but it works.
RE: MySQL over SSH connection
Hi Microsoft. I've just installed power BI, seems like a great product. All of our data is stored in MySQL but it isn't accessible via SSH. Without this Power BI is a non-starter, unfortunately.
RE: MySQL over SSH connection
WTF?, is not a serious product
