I have a report page with multiple charts and visualizations. Let's say one of the chart shows Sales by Year and I drill down into 2013 to see the sales by month in 2013. Currently, the drill-down has no effect on the other charts and visualizations on the page; they still show data for all years, not just for 2013. Instead, I'd like other charts to drill down into 2013 or filter by 2013 as well.

Well this is exciting! We've just shipped the December release of Power BI Desktop, and I'm very pleased to say we've added the ability to apply filters from a visual when you drill into it. This is now the default for any new visuals; you can turn it on for existing visuals (or disable it if you don't want it) through the Format tab. Look for "Drilling filters other visuals". Seems like this should be a no brainer - lack of the interactions under drill-down significantly diminishes the usefulness of the interactions.

Unhappy that the visualizations drill through is not updating the linked visual objects i.e. tables even though the filter shows as being applied.

Great to see all new features in the Sep 2016 Power BI Desktop Release, but still the problem with Drill-Through is not solved and so the Dashboards are not working as it should be for new and existing users/customers.
Please take attention that bug fixing and enhancements to existing visuals are far more important than adding new features (which might also be fixed) in this stage of product development of Power BI Desktop.
Please add this to the coming Oct 2016 Release as fixed !

I'm fairly new to Power Bi and came across this limitation almost immediately. I thought I was doing something wrong at first because it seems like such an obvious function to have. I hope it gets implemented ASAP.

Absolutely needed to help everyone better understand the data they are looking at.
In the mean time, if there are any best practices around how to tell a data story well without this ability, I would appreciate that.

Can we please have an update on this? I want to give my users the ability to interrogate the data themselves. I agree with @David. It's not ideal that I have to explain to my users that they can drill... but with limitations.
This feature should be stock standard as is lassoing. There are other tools that provide this functionality

I honestly cannot believe PowerBI has this limitation.

'+3 from me. This is basic behaviour and shouldn't be hard to implement. The event raised when clicking one bar should also be raised when drilling down (or up, for that matter). I submitted this as a bug a long time ago, but apparently this is by design - I cannot think of a scenario where the current behaviour is what you want.
