I created an Excel workbook with an XML feed from A.W.rd.A.Day: http://wordsmith.org/awad/rss1.xml. I created a table in PV; text in the description of the word is cut off. I upload to PBI and create a tile. Text in the tile is also cut off. Not cool!

In the May release of Power BI Desktop, we launched the preview of the new table visual. Both the new table and new matrix visuals have support for word wrap in cells. We want to switch to Power BI from Tableau, but this is an absolute deal breaker for us. We are evaluating using Power BI as the front-end for a large-scale data analytics platform that we are developing, but due to the nature of the data we use we can't rely on it unless text can be displayed cleanly.

Text Wrap in Tables and Matrices is a very basic and must have feature! Hope it is added soon.

How do I explain that a simple request that Excel can achieve easily cannot be done in the new all singing all dancing "Power" BI report

Try explaining to your CEO that it really is a tool limitation and that you're not just dumb..."Work Percent Complete" is a very long column header, with two-digit values that right justify.

Seriously...word wrap on column heads should be at the top of any upcoming project list. There are many times when the column cannot be renamed and since font sizes cannot be dropped below 8 pts, large tables require this option to make the viewing of the tables practical.
