Great Idea...I'm using OBDC to connect but some times the update fail!

Why are Microsoft showing such poor support of their excellent Access database? Power BI couldn't even connect to the latest version (e.g. Office 365/Office 2016) without having to load the 2010 database engine distributable.

Without this feature it is going to take months to get my dataset. This improvement would speed up the time I can bring my manager valuable reports!

This is very critical to our business since the data inside our Access is sensitive (HR) and cannot be released with a valid user password.

Just wanted to add a workaround for those who still need this. You can create an ODBC connection to your access database (just search ODBC in your start menu) then use the following string in a query to connect:

Source = Odbc.DataSource("arbitraryname,pwd=yourpassword;dsn=ODBCConnectionName", [HierarchicalNavigation=true])
