RE: Passing Parameters to Power BI through Stored Procedure
Cant seem to vote on this? Need this feature - exactly like you can on SSRS reports where we have parameters on procedures and they are used on the reports - user needs to be prompted. Thanks
RE: Passing Parameters to Power BI through Stored Procedure
Yes, it's a must-have functionality we will need in Power BI asap. Hopefully, it's on your roadmap.
RE: Passing Parameters to Power BI through Stored Procedure
This is quite a basic requirement from any client to dynamically query data based on paramaters provided... Can the Power BI Team at Microsoft take this as priority please
RE: Passing Parameters to Power BI through Stored Procedure
I have started shifting my reports to power bi but due to lack of this process that we can't pass parameters to stored procedures like we are doing in SSRS is unbelievable, it should be from the beginning, we are waiting for this updates.
RE: Passing Parameters to Power BI through Stored Procedure
This is a needed feature as we will be replicating our SSRS reports which use a number of Stored Procedures which use Parameters.
RE: Passing Parameters to Power BI through Stored Procedure
This is the key feature when using direct queries, which is missing today to pass the parameters to SP's. Also, take advantage of SQL Objects rather than user queries.
competitors are providing this basic feature since the beginning.
It's been ~5 years PBI came out and still missing this feature.
RE: Passing Parameters to Power BI through Stored Procedure
YES NEED THIS
RE: Passing Parameters to Power BI through Stored Procedure
Yes, we really need this. Is it on the roadmap?
RE: Passing Parameters to Power BI through Stored Procedure
This is absolutely needed. With the increasing amount of data in the databases, we need to be able to filter data at the source dynamically. You build one stored procedure, one report, and pass dynamic parameters through URL to get what you want. It's so simple, it should have been there from the start.
RE: Passing Parameters to Power BI through Stored Procedure
And please allow parameter types other than Text to work in the Query editor, it is very frustrating that the queries fail when you try to pass a date or INT value, the only solution currently is to rewrite the SPs...
