With the addition of the Selection Pane in the October 2017 release, it would be great to be able to rename these selections so that they are easily manageable.
If you have multiple objects of the same name, i.e. Image, Text Box, it would be great to rename these (like in PowerPoint) so that you can clearly understand which ones you are hiding or making visible.

Anyway, there is a work-around. Know that the name as displayed in the Selection pane takes its initial value from object type, but will also use the Title Text property if it present.
Scenario: Add two buttons to the page, they both show up as "Button" in the Selection pane. Do this: turn on the Title property of a button, add a title, say, "Button #1" then turn the title back off again. Repeat for the second button, with a new title as appropriate.

Just been creating Grouped Sync Slicers and this ability would save me so much time. Currently have to go to the Title in the format pane turn it on change the name then turn the title off again.

This would be great. With the ability of grouping like bookmarks it would be greater.

Essential enhancement. I'd settle for being able to update the existing Title property directly from the Selection Pane. Although I like the idea of having a separate Label field for behind-the-scenes, that could get complex. Either way, need a solution in order to make full use of Bookmarks and mobile view.

Yes this is very important, I saw yesterday a workaround (presented by Mike Carlo) but it is still a workaround.

Agree this is much needed. Changing the title is not always an option, and really a pain/time consuming if you want to change lots of items.

This is a necessity!! How many buttons do you have on your canvas???
