An option to enable/disable query folding.

I found a workaround for this, but this needs sorting urgently!
Enable folding should be FALSE by default, the same as it always was. I think this should actually be logged as a bug not an idea.
My workaround is to find a pbix file which already has a connection to the database I need, and amend the SQL in the editor.
It's very messy though!

the fact that power bi doesn't allow this difficults a lot of data analysis tasks for me.
this needs to be solved ASAP

Please fix this issue ASAP. Trying to promote Power BI in my organisation and this puts things in an awkward position as I can't work efficiently with PostgreSQL.

This problem means our company who was about to shift to using Power BI may not be able to do so!
Please disable the folding option by default ASAP! Can later provide a setting option but as a default, this needs to be disabled or I simply cannot work and our company may not be able to use Power BI.

The main pain point for me, is that whenever I edit my native query, the PowerBI query editor will silently add the EnableFolding=True option to the query.
The report will then successfully refresh in PowerBI desktop, but fail in the PowerBI service. I know it is easy to remove the EnableFolding from an individual query, but it is frustrating having to do this all the time, on lots of different tables. A global option to stop adding the EnableFolding option would help

Just in an attempt to help the team resolve this issue, was query folding working on Postres before a recent update and it stopped working, or has it never worked? Just wondering if that datasource should be considered exempt from query folding or if they just need to correct something about how it works.

I have the same issue, I don't use native queries, so it's completely pointless as a functionality. The old postgres connector was much better. I have thread where I commented this issue in detail.
