    We've had a couple inquiries about this too. Looking for a workaround so we can bring Essbase and PowerBI together.

    we have a lot of interest in this from several of our customers as is mentioned in the tread, this is a major player in corporate planning and performance management.

    I'm not familiar with Essbase but from the bit of googling I've done it doesn't seem very easy to connect to from anything.

    This stackoverflow article gives some connection options:

    Some of the options seem to have been discontinued, but there is an answer that shows how to connect via C# and AdomdDataReader (that the question asker says solved his problem).

    So in the interim until an official solution is released, if you REALLY needed to connect to Essbasefrom from PowerBI, would it not be an option to use the approach shown in the example, and then wrap that either in OData or SQLCLR so it could be called from PowerBI?

    We are also using Essbase in support of Hyperion financial modules. Please provide a connector as our global financial data is not accessible and is this is a significant Power BI business use case.
