In late 2016, Power BI improved our export data options to allow exporting up to 150,000 rows to Excel from a visual on a Power BI dashboard for Pro users. If you require higher limits, please vote on this idea. If you have more specific requirements, please leave them in the comments.

There are longer term plans to allow larger exports in that use case, but there isn't a current timeline as to when that will be available. Customers who have Power BI Premium can set a drill-through to paginated reports via URL parameters as a workaround in the interim, as there is no data export limit for paginated reports.

RE: Increase Export Data Limits

150,000 rows is a rediculously low limit for big data, needs to be aligned to Excel level limits.

RE: Increase Export Data Limits

suggest change the subject to "remove export data limit" instead of just increase.

RE: Increase Export Data Limits

Lets make Power BI proper Reporting tool. Every reporting tool must be offering capability of exporting millions of rows to Excel. Otherwise tools sucks :D.

Now seriously, there should be limit around 1-3M cells to be exported. This is what we have available in SAP reporting tools.

RE: Increase Export Data Limits

Data export row limitations should be removed with the option of configuring the limitations available for developers (for load planning purposes).

With the release of Power BI Report Server, on-premise users who view web versions of the reports are limited to 30k rows of data to export.

Power BI reports are often used as an interface by business users to obtain data as if they are running SQL queries. If there is no way to export the data out of Power BI if the result set is more than 30k, the data is basically stuck in the Power BI interface and not useable in other workflows.

RE: Increase Export Data Limits

Maximum limit to export should match the max limit of Excel. If it fits in Excel is should be able to be exported, If it doesn't fit in your Excel then it is too much to export.

RE: Increase Export Data Limits

The export limit to 30k rows (or even 150k for Pro) disqualifies Power BI as a reporting tool. It will definitly not be introduced in our company.
