Show column data profile statistics in header

Add a column data profile histogram in the data view for every column in Power BI Desktop. This handy feature exists in Power Query (sometimes only on sampled data). Add this feature to Power BI Desktop as well, please.

Dynamic Date Slicer (improve relative date slicer)

This is a repost of my idea that was closed as completed, but the 'relative date slicer doesn't allow any of the described request hence my idea is not implemented.... The new date slicer is awesome, but it would be so nice if you could set a dynamic date selection instead of a static. With a ...

The relative date slicer (a Preview feature as of June '17) gets us close to this with the 'This Month' or 'This Year' settings. That is a dynamic date selection that updates based on the current system date. We plan to add a 'YTD'/'MTD' option to specifically select a range from the start of the month/year up to today, hopefully that'll address the remaining requirements!

Security - Ability to maintain source security for reports published on BI Sites

The general requirement is that visualizations (Power View, SSRS etc...) must not circumvent existing policies, or introduce yet another set of security policies on top of those already implemented at the source. * For example, a visualization of sales data needs to reflect the policy that acc...

Hey all! We've continued to make progress here, so I wanted to update this thread with our current capabilities for maintaining security on dashboards/reports. As always, all of this information can be found in our Row-Level Security (RLS)documentation: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-admin-rls/ > If you have set up RLS in Analysis Services, Power BI will send the signed-in user's credentials to Analysis Services, and respect the RLS rules set up on the on-premises model. > Separately, you can set up RLS in Power BI for data sources that you import or connect to via DirectQuery. This process starts in PBI Desktop, where you define roles, and write DAX to constrain what data these roles can see. As part of this process, can you use the UserPrincipalName () DAX function to get the current signed in user's UPN (e.g. joe@contoso.com). Then, once you publish to service, you can assign users to these roles. Does the above meet your requirements? Please let us know via comments or e-mail. Those of you who requested that the identity of the signed in Power BI user be pass through to Azure SQL, SQL DB, DWH, etc.: we hear you - that is under consideration. Thanks, -Sirui

Totals in stacked column charts

During several presentations I get questions regarding the total of stacked columns. In the current situation you can select to label all the parts of the stacked column but no grand total. I would like to see the option to add a label to the Visuals which shows the total of the stacked column (t...

Page/Tab Level Security

Row level security makes it hard to hide EVERYTHING from a specific user login having the page/Tab secuirty within Power BI for different user Login would be very helpful For Example: something like USERPRINCIPALNAME () which would be dynamic for different user login to hide and show pages that...

Increase Export Data Limits

In late 2016, Power BI improved our export data options to allow exporting up to 150,000 rows to Excel from a visual on a Power BI dashboard for Pro users. If you require higher limits, please vote on this idea. If you have more specific requirements, please leave them in the comments.

There are longer term plans to allow larger exports in that use case, but there isn't a current timeline as to when that will be available. Customers who have Power BI Premium can set a drill-through to paginated reports via URL parameters as a workaround in the interim, as there is no data export limit for paginated reports.

Drill Mode By Default

It should be good if we can set Drill Mode ON/OFF by DEFAULT instead of clicking manually on the arrow every time on report.

DAX Query Language Visual

I see big value in creating a visual that can display the results of a DAX query. One way this could be deployed is a follows. * Add the new visual to the report canvas * Write a DAX query that returns a table (of course) and add this to the visual * The visual would respect any cross filter...

At the moment we don't have any plans to implement this. It sounds like it's mostly useful for learning/training? If there are other 'production' scenarios that you think it'd be useful, where a regular table/matrix wouldn't work, please let us know in the comments!

We recently released the ability to export data from tiles and visuals to a CSV file. This may work for y'all as a workaround until we add the ability to directly copy and paste the visual or data. You can read more about it here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/powerbi/archive/2016/01/06/power-bi-service-update-0106.aspx#exportTile. Be sure to let us know what you think about the feature!
